Stellaris - Reliable Way To Synch Mods
Global Achievements. Anyone know what might be wrong? My two friends can connect to eachother, but I can't connect to them. The build id, version, and checksum all match, none of us have any mods, and all of us have all the DLC. We've all verified our game cache and all of them came up clean, so I don't know what else to try. Showing 1 - 8 of 8 comments. First check if you have the same version which you don't and run the game.
Disable all mods as well. I forgot to update this, but if anyone else has the same problem, what I did to resolve it: Change the version to some other version I used the last betawait for it to update, then change back. It will update again. The CRC and version number will be identical to what you had before the first switch, but it will automagically work. I don't know why that fixes it.
Maybe it's using some other hash internally that you don't see as the 4-digit value in the UI. Even redownloading the game didn't work until I did the version switcharoo. Zoe View Profile View Posts. Ok, I had this problem and try to do the commom folder delete procedure and didn't manage to fix it. The procedure of uninstalling everything and purge all the files, then reinstall de game sure work, but seems to me too extreme.
So I begin to investigate and found a. This documents tell the game witch folders to "check" to do the "sum". Checksum now is fixed. Try this before uninstalling the game. Hope this work for you and sorry for the bad english. Pickles View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by Zoe :. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 6 Dec, pm. Posts: 8. Discussions Rules and Guidelines. The Skjaldborg. Unfortunately, for Stellaris mods to work in multiplayer, ALL players must have the same mods installed. I believe this is something the devs want to address, but for now here are some effective solutions for fixing any "host has another version of the game" errors. Subscribe to required mods on Steam. Check mod list on Stellaris launcher; number and list should now be identical to what you have subscribed.
I've tested this and it works.
Sci-fi strategy game Stellaris now has multiplayer on consoles
If this doesn't work, your game is likely bugged. In this case, you need to manually purge some files as simply uninstalling will not fix this. Uninstall the game. You sure it's up? I can't find it. Steel Banned. Jun 20, 19, 0 0. Do you have any mods turned on? Edit: I've hidden the server ID in this post. The UI is saying the server's online. Says " Game not found. Did you try the server ID? Edit: Beaten. Now it says " The host has another version of the game! That's the version I'm on. Guessing it's a bug.
Edit: I'm just going to call it quits due to technical issues. Thanks for trying, guys.It seems that you're using an outdated browser.

Categories Hi, in MP on the battle list it shows everyone's game in red and it says that they have a different version of the game than what I do.
My copy of Shogun 2 is upto date with the recent patch, I have verified the game cache and I have also re-installed twice. One thing I did notice is that under the build number - it says 'modded. For full disclosure - I have two copies of shogun 2. My regular, and this copy. Sometimes I hop between one profile and another on the same computer one profile has fots and all dlc the other one only has a few dlc.
Don't know if that helps. As I say I have re-installed, I just can't get the mp to work for me. Any ideas? Post edited by Theokoles on December Flincher14 Member Registered Users Posts: December edited December I am having this exact same issue and its been suggested to me to remove any file that the modified file has ousted as a mod file then try to verify game.
If it works for me I will edit this post. Update: As of now this has worked. I removed the files and verified game text. I had to restart steam because I kept getting an error saying Shogun 2 needed to update. Now the modded tag is removed and I appear able to join in the multiplayer games. Paradox pulls "discriminatory" Stellaris mod that made all humans white
Global Achievements. I try to play multiplayer with my friend and neither of us has any mods and we have the same DLC but the game still says we have different versions of the game. Also when I have "Same Version" and "Same Mod" checked on the search filter, nothing comes up but when I uncheck "same version" a large amount of games appear that say they have the same version as me.
I looked over my mods to make sure there are none activated, verified game cache and uninstalled and reinstalled the game but none of this has worked.
Does anyone know of a solution to this issue? Showing 1 - 2 of 2 comments. If you just uninstall with steam, you still have files left on your drive s and some of them could be "modified" through previous mod installations. Does not fix your problem if you are squeaky clean but the problem might be a corrupted leftover file on your friends PC.

Global Achievements. Crimsonblod View Profile View Posts. Fix Found for "Host has another version of the game" in unmodded game, with dlc, and without dlc. Please excuse the long title, I'm just trying to make it easy to google for, because all the solutions I found for this consisted of "it just started working one day" tldr; Either delete the entire game folder and reinstall, or if you're worried about data caps, remove every file modified before the date you reinstalled or verified the game, and then verify the game integrity again to make sure you didn't accidentally delete anything.
Detailed Explanation: So, after several months of not playing, I had uninstalled the game to make room for other games. I reinstalled it recently to play the new dlc with friends, and just happened to pick the same drive when I reinstalled it, which is where this whole issue stemmed from. We tried verifying the game files, we tried every combination of dlc we possibly could, including a game with no dlc, and nothing worked.
Long story short, there were various game and mod files leftover from the previous installation. However, I had never manually installed any mods, so I didn't think to make sure the game file was deleted before I reinstalled the game a second time.🛸 Stellaris: Utopia Was it worth it? DLC/expansion review and gameplay commentary
SO, the easiest solution is to just delete the entire stellaris folder and reinstall the game, however, in the process of diagnosing this issue, we went through and I deleted all files modified before the day I reinstalled the game. So, if you're worried about data caps or a long download, that is also an option. Showing 1 - 4 of 4 comments. Do you think this solution will work with mods as well?
This was a LONG time ago, but new mods had nothing to do with this issue. We were only able to identify this as the problem after going through every file in the directory and comparing the exact size in bytes to a working copy.
It turned out to be that there had been ghost files left in vanilla directories that didn't match up, as well as some random mods that weren't removing themselves properly, and were causing issues even though they weren't enabled in the modlist. I actually had some recent issues for stellaris that I think stem from the same issue.
Although to be honest, I'm not sure what you're asking.
