Thread starter Sotobeh Start date Apr 3, So I'm sitting here with my chin on my brand new computer case with all my new parts nicely in the cases, about to flip. I've been looking all over just to find maybe a solution. I can't, so I posted this. So my pc won't turn on, the power button doesn't turn it on. There is a Green led that lights up on my motherboard when my psu is plugged in and is set to on.
The voltage is set toI'm in the us. No fan wiggles, and I'm pretty sure my motherboard isn't grounded. But I made sure it wasn't damaged.
I've fiddled with all the power cables and for the most part I'm sure the front panel connectors are right.
I checked the cpu and the little things you set it on,all fine. Tried the ram one at a time, taken everything out and plugged it back in multiple times. I the motherboard needs a 24 pin. The cpu power connector is 8 and the psu fits that too. The only problem I could think of is the stupid front panel connectors. This is my first time building a pc btw.
My build Motherboard: asus p8z77 Kingwin Pow psu Power color radeon hd gpu Intel i7 Case is a thermal take commander ms-I.
Make sure you have not switched the power LED and power switch wires. This caught me of guard once, took me a few minutes to realize my mistake. To clarify, you are using the manual for pin-out configurations? I'm sure I haven't switched Em. I've referenced the manual a number of times. Hmm, can you take a snapshot of all the motherboard connectors for us to see? This is the front panel.
Notice how above the reset switch there are four connectors and those are for speakers. I think I found where that is but can't be sure. Also there is no spot for hdd led? Is that the same as ide led? Cpu and power connector. I think you are kind of missing a power connection. You see that blue 8 pin connection to the left of the CPU cooler and to the right of the back exhaust fan?She has more than 20 years of experience creating technical documentation and leading support teams at major web hosting and software companies.

I also bought this monitor for it connected via DisplayPort cable. Things seem to be working just fine except for one small problem: about half the time when I power up from a shut down state the monitor gives no display and I have to shut down and try again.
It appears to be a random manifestation, as far as I can tell. When I first read this email, my mind immediately jumped to all the different troubleshooting techniques you might want to use to isolate this problem—as in, to narrow down to the potential answer by methodically eliminating causes.
I think something hardware-related is to blame, here. If you do, there are even more things you can try. You could unplug the DisplayPort connection on both ends and plug both sides back in again, in case a loose connection is to blame. You can try using a different DisplayPort cable entirely. Switch back, and make sure your monitor has correctly selected DisplayPort as its connection —I suspect it has, but it never hurts to check.
Unplug any power cables going to your graphics card and plug them back in. Reseat your RAM. Unplug the power cables going to your motherboard the fat pin connector and the tinier 4- or 8-pin connector and plug them back in.
