I dont know what is happening, it was so easy before, but now it seems almost impossible to do it with Austria. I just wasted one hour and needed countless restarts, still didnt got it even one time. I dont get Poland as ally most of the times, because it just takes too long to get to the 40 points i need, if they even rival Bohemia in the first place.

The best attempt was my last one, so i thought. They had Saxony and Brandenburg as rivals and were only allied to Ansbach and Ferrara. But the war started to early, i got a 20 stack with 10k manpower in reserve. So i start the war and siege down Ferrara and Ansbach, to get them out of the war. Bohemia managed to siege down the capitals of Saxony and Brandenburg in that time and took their land.

So only me and Bohemia. But i alreay started to siege down their capital and suddenly, i couldnt go anywhere else but to the fort next to the capital.

They sieged down my capital and even got help of the Teutonic Order eventually. So, what do i have to do to get the PU consistantly? I have no idea what to do anymore, it all seems to come down to luck, by getting Poland-Lithuania as ally in time, if they are even rivaled. Last edited by Medicles ; 4 Aug, am. Rabob View Profile View Posts. You do realize you get a mission for it later on as well? Furthermore you could merc up etc. Also you dont need to siege their allies most of the time. Especially ferrara would be a pain to siege. Just white peace them and kill armies in the first year. Having the war goal also helps a lot peaceing out allies.

Try to use edicts as well. The defensiveness can prolong their sieges for instance. Last edited by Rabob ; 4 Aug, pm. There is no money for mercs at the start and getting the PU later is not an option.

I just tried again, they have Brandenburg and Liege as ally and i have only Saxony. Of course they didnt rival Poland even so Poland rivaled them.

This is again a lost war and i cant do anything about it. Originally posted by Tea Age :. Capping out at the start would mean no manpower with a 26k army. Bohemia and Silesia can already field a 20k army at the beginning and even with only an OPM as ally it would surpass my army. I never saw them getting no ally whatsoever.Type the name of a console command into the search box to instantly search EU4 commands. Hover over a cheat code to view detailed argument explanation.

You can not only play different nations, but you can play the same nation in many different ways. You can min-max and live on the edge or you can sit back, relax and play at your own pace. And so, I have decided to split the guide into two versions- a Guide to Assertive Austria for minmaxing play style and a Guide to Amicable Austria for more casual play style.

Remember, there is no right or wrong way to play this game. Just have fun! Austria is one of the few nations where you will use diplomacy more than war to get a solid base for world domination. This guide will help you set up the first couple of months and fulfill short term objectives. Diplomacy has to be timed fairly well, as once nations fill their relationship slots its harder to get alliances and royal marriages RM.

I have laid out each step you will take for the first couple of months. After that, I will lay out the next objectives in more broad terms. I wish I could give you a longer step by step guide, but the RNG in game will dictate how you play to some extent. Secondary Objective: Prevent Shadow Kingdom. Now you open up the diplomacy screen for Bohemia, go to speed 4 or 5 and stare at it till you see a von Habsburg as a ruler. If you do see a von Habsburg at the throne, you need to immediately pause the game and click on claim throne.

Build your force limit to 25 with mercs, raise army and fort maintenance. After a month when you can send the diplomat again, rival Bohemia and declare war on the same day. Go to war and win it.

This could be a long drawn out war depending on who Bohemia allies, so play smart. Siege their capital and try to use the terrain to your advantage in battles. You will need to take some loans.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. Showing 1 - 3 of 3 comments. I always decide depending on the situation. Claiming a Throne reduces relations with all your RM partners which for me sometimes is the reason not to claim, e. Also I mostly have the case where my claimable ally has no heir instead if weak heir which costs the stabhit from trucebreaking as you don't want to sit out the break alliance truce.

Just improve relations with your other royal marriage partners, I've never had someone break a royal marriage over it. Portugals a good PU to have. Feed him spain and you'll have two very powerful subjects. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 26 Jan, pm.

You have very high early game army morale, so you can go full conquest; Iberian peninsula has natural fortifications on map which will help you out defensively. Your national ideas are only behind Portugal on colonization. Your home trade node receives a lot of money from the new world, and you can potentially get a lot of merchants, so you can learn about trade and become very rich mid to late game.

In short, Castile could be played in a lot of different ways. Just like my Austria guideI will lay out two guides for different play styles. One is for intense expansionist game play, which I call Colossal Castile. I will divide the guides into Conquest and Colonization sections and a separate Event section which will be common for both guides. Secondary Objective: Colonize African provinces for conquest in Africa. So your campaign might go a bit differently, but you have significant army morale advantage compared to your neighbors and you should win most wars.

Prerequisites: Build up to land force limit. Build up to Navy force limit. England is at war with France for Surrender of Maine event. Hide your navy at Sevilla port. Keep half your army on north coastline to fight landing Brits they will land troops on you even when their provinces are sieged down by France. Chase down Portugal stack with rest of the army and full siege. England will white peace after a while.

OR at least 1 claim on Granada. If Morocco was not allied with Granada, declare on them immediately after finishing up with Granada. Keep an eye on your war exhaustion and man power. So I am Portugal and hold most of the coast of morocco. Except for this tiny insignificant province in the middle of mine which is held by castille. Is there any way for me to get that province, without having to turn on Castille, which has been my ally from the beginning of the game? However, by the time Spain attacked I had all the moroccan coast, including the south side of Gibraltar strait. Hence, Spain was unable to get onto Moroccan soil because I denied their request for access.

Morocco occupied the Spanish province on the coast, and I proceeded to take it as well as all of Morocco north of the Atlas in the next war, the one that eclipsed Morocco from northwestern Africa.

You can use the console if you are playing non ironman. The only other option is to get them or hope they will by themselves, lol get into financial trouble and offer it to you for a lump sum of gold. If Spain's ruler has the embezzler trait then they'll occasionally sell provinces if they fall into debt.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

Also: if England is in the Hundred Year's war, what about war with either Portugal or Aragon from Day 1 while I wait for the 'quest for the new world' to unlock? Showing 1 - 8 of 8 comments. Alex View Profile View Posts. Portugal and Aragon ally so fighting portugal is fighting Aragon and vice versa. France likes Aragon so they won't join you in a war against them and portugal is too far away.

Portugal will ally you in the defensive war and you can make them annul treaties with portugal, then DOW on portugal right after. Jormundgand View Profile View Posts.

What Alex said; also remember the marriage event which pretty much gives you aragon for free -- look it up on the wiki.

It;s very valuable when you can get Naples in the PU as well. Sol View Profile View Posts. If portugal doesnt ally with Aragon right away from the ottoman start, you can RM Portugal, claim throne, then declare a war for Portugals throne before the king gets an heir and force them into a PU, England wont do much other than maybe blockade because they are too busy with France.

Originally posted by Soladept :. Anytime you play Castille, Aragon is always a jerk, they will rival you, and try to get themselves destroyed by messing with france or italian countries, and I've had back luck and had no royal wedding event in the 3 or 4 times Ive played Castille, so I had to form spain the hard way.

If Castile had a good ruler and heir, they would be in a better spot for world conquest, instead they are the ones that are crushed early game because they are weak and deficient in monarch points.
