Chapter Topics You'll learn all of the geometry topics covered in the textbook chapter, including:. Sometimes, what is true in the mathematical world of logic is false in the real world. Check out this lesson to learn how to identify conditional statements and how you can differentiate between what is logically true and what is true in reality.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to define and recognize a biconditional statement. We'll review conditional statements and their converses and look at examples of each. We'll also discuss the criteria for writing biconditional statements.

Watch this video lesson and learn what truth values are and what a truth table looks like. Learn how to go from a proposition to its negation and how that affects the truth values and the truth tables. Many people think that deductive and inductive reasoning are the same thing. It is assumed these words are synonymous. They are not. This lesson reveals the reality of these two types of reasoning.

In geometry, there are some basic postulates that are relied upon as the basis for other theorems. Watch this video to learn about the postulates that deal with points, lines, and planes.

After watching this video lesson, you should be able to use the addition property of equality to help you solve problems. In addition, you can learn the formula for this property. In this video lesson, we look at the subtraction property of equality. Learn how it helps you to solve problems and how it keeps equations the same. Learn what you must do to both sides of an equation. After watching this video lesson, you will learn to use the multiplication property of equality to help you solve problems in math.

You will also learn the formula for this property. In this video lesson, you will learn about the division property of equality, its formula, and how you can use it to help you solve problems where you are looking for an unknown number. Have you ever finished a math problem only to see that the teacher's answer was written backwards?

Find out why your answer is correct in this lesson on the symmetric property of equality! After watching this video lesson, you will understand how the transitive property of equality works when you have two equations that are equal to each other.

Learn the formula for this property and how you can use it to help you solve problems. In this lesson, we will review the definition of the reflexive property of equality. We will also look at why this property is important.

Following the lesson will be a brief quiz to test your knowledge on the reflexive property of equality. The order of operations is great. But sometimes we need to bend the rules to simplify an equation. Fortunately, the distributive property gives us a scenario in which this is okay.Choose your answers to the questions and click 'Next' to see the next set of questions.

This includes improving writing techniques, reading comprehension, and oral communication in mathematics. Another important goal of this text is to provide students with material that will be needed for their further study of mathematics.

This type of course has now become a standard part of the mathematics major at many colleges and universities. The transition is from the problem-solving orientation of calculus to the more abstract and theoretical upper-level courses. This is needed today because many students complete their study of calculus without seeing a formal proof or having constructed a proof of their own.

This is in contrast to many upper-level mathematics courses, where the emphasis is on the formal development of abstract mathematical ideas, and the expectations are that students will be able to read and understand proofs and be able to construct and write coherent, understandable mathematical proofs. Students should be able to use this text with a background of one semester of calculus.

It's extremely interactive, visually compelling, and a whole lot cheaper than the printed version.

I have one complaint though. Only even numbers are displayed on certain exercises. Please add a free answer key for teachers and students. I know textbooks are just starting to be converted to ebook.

But I wouldn't call this interactive. I can't even zoom in on a problem. This is just a textbook converted into ebook format. I look forward to a year or two from now, when each section has true problems that students can manipulate to see changes in value. There is a diagram missing on p. And also, I would like to have the page numbers in the printed book as a option to view I'm the only one in my class using this right now, so it is hard to follow the teacher I would also like more self tutors and interaction.
